Bureau of Engraving and Printing to Host Treasurer of the United States Rosie Rios for Speaking Engagement on the New $10 Redesign

Fort Worth, TX (June 22, 2015) - The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP), located in Fort Worth, Texas, will proudly host 43rd Treasurer of the United States Rosie Rios at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 who will deliver remarks to the public and media about the new $10 redesign, which will feature a notable woman and revolve around the theme of democracy.  Following her remarks, the media is invited on a behind-the-scenes production floor tour with Treasurer Rios to view the current Series 2013 $10 note, followed by a Q&A session and photo opportunity.

The Treasurer’s visit coincides with the BEP’s Summer Employee Craftsmanship Demonstrations, scheduled on June 23-26 in the Public Tour and Visitor Center from 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.  BEP currency designers, engravers, platemakers, photoengravers, and plate printers will be on hand conducting special demonstrations showcasing their unique crafts.

Media Arrival Time:  12:30 p.m.

The BEP is a secure Federal installation and members of the media must adhere to the following rules:  (1) Arrive at least ½-hour prior to event to process through security in accordance with the “Media Arrival Time” section stated above; (2)  bring government-issued picture identification and media credentials; (3) weapons and alcohol are prohibited; 4) vehicles entering the facility are subject to search; 5) members of the media, as well as their equipment, are subject to magnetometer and x-ray checks prior to entering the facility; and 6) members of the media are required to sign a License Agreement and Waiver of Liability.

Parking Instructions

Media will enter through the main entrance (not the public tour entrance).  A police officer will search your vehicle and provide you with a special media badge which must be placed in a visible location on your clothing at all times.  You will be instructed on where to park in the Employee Parking Lot.  Once parked, you will be escorted to the media staging area in the Public Tour and Visitor Center.
