Bureau of Engraving and Printing Announces Holiday Shut Down Schedule

As an efficiency measure, the Department of the Treasury’s Bureau of Engraving and Printing in Washington, D.C. and Fort Worth, Texas shuts down operations during the holiday season. The Bureau’s Congressional and Public tours, along with the Visitor Center sales areas, will close December 23, 2006, and re-open January 2, 2007. The mail order sales program and the receipt of correspondence will also be suspended during this time.

The Bureau offers a wide array of unique gift items to meet your holiday shopping needs, from uncut sheets of currency to souvenir cards, vignettes and presidential portraits. In order to meet your holiday needs, please be sure to do your currency shopping early. Bureau products can be ordered online at www.moneyfactory.gov, by calling 1(800) 456-3408, or by visiting the Visitor Center Gift Shop in Washington, D.C. at 14th and C. Streets, S.W., or in Fort Worth, Texas at 9000 Blue Mound Road.
