Bureau of Engraving and Printing Announces Year End Shut Down Schedule

As an efficiency measure, the Department of the Treasury’s Bureau of Engraving and Printing in Washington, D.C. and Fort Worth, Texas will shut down its operations from December 24 to January 3.

On Thursday, December 24, 2009, the Bureau’s Washington, DC Tour will be closed to the public. The Visitor Center will be open until 12:00 p.m. The Fort Worth, Texas Tour and Visitor Center will close its doors to the public, same day at 12:00 p.m. (CST)

Both facilities will re-open to the public on January 4, 2010. The Bureau offers a wide array of unique gift items, including uncut sheets of currency and souvenir cards, vignettes and presidential portraits. In order to meet your holiday needs, please be sure to do your currency shopping early. Bureau products can be ordered online at www.moneyfactory.gov, by calling 1(800) 456-3408, or by visiting the Visitor Center Gift Shop in Washington, D.C. at 14th and C. Streets, S.W., or in Fort Worth, Texas at 9000 Blue Mound Road.
